Dr. Laura Hatfield, Assistant Professor of Health Care Policy (Biostatistics), Harvard Medical School,
will deliver a talk for the monthly Biostatistics seminar on Monday, July 20th.
Talk title: "Incorporating regulator loss functions for safety signal escalation"
Laura Hatfield, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Health Care Policy, with a specialty in Biostatistics, at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Hatfield's research focuses on trade-offs and relationships among health outcomes. In particular, she develops and applies statistical methods that incorporate multiple sources of information and relationships among outcomes. She has particular expertise in Bayesian hierarchical modeling. Dr. Hatfield received her BS in genetics from Iowa State University and her PhD in biostatistics from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Hatfield leads the Methods Incubator for Junior Researchers. This year, a new interactive workshop will debut at the 11th International Conference on Health Policy Statistics - Providence, Rhode Island Oct 7-9, 2015. The workshop will connect teams of early-career researchers for collaboration on methods projects.
