Postdoctoral Research Position in the Biomedical Data Science Department at Dartmouth
The Department of Biomedical Data Science in the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks multiple talented and motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellows. Specific areas of research and development for these positions include, but not limited to:
- Natural language processing on biomedical and clinical text
- Data mining and predictive modeling based on various structured and unstructured health
- Deep learning for medical images and narratives
The successful candidate will have a PhD in computer science, biomedical informatics, mathematics, engineering or a related field. At the Department of Biomedical Data Science, the applicant will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborate with senior investigators from other Dartmouth departments and research institutes, such as Department of Computer Science, Department of Epidemiology, Norris Cotton Cancer Center, and Dartmouth SYNERGY.
Applicant should have a successful record of research accomplishments, evidenced by work experience and publications in informatics and computer science journals and conferences. Strong work experience in biomedical informatics, data mining, natural language processing, or image processing, knowledge of and proficiency in machine learning and statistics, and programming experience with Java and Python are required. Experience with Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, and distributed computing and deep learning frameworks is highly desirable. The successful candidate should have excellent written and verbal communications skills to translate research activities and findings to research publications and contribute to proposals for extramurally funding.
